Heritage Walk in collaboration with Downtown Legacy Tour

As a part of the landmark initiative programs of Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir under the flag of “My Town My Pride” the Department of Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure Studies University of Kashmir organized a Culture and Heritage Campaign on 27-10-2022 to create awareness about the cultural and heritage resources of Srinagar City and also emphasize their importance in the urban areas.



The main objective of today’s campaign was to sensitize local community about various issues pertaining to the preservation and conservation of cultural and heritage facets in urban areas. The day long activities include heritage walk and craft safari to famous heritage circuit of down town Srinagar: Jammia Masjid, Khankahi Moulla, Maharaj Gung, Budshah Tomb, Heritage Museum Baitul Meeras, Hari parbat fort and Sharka Devi Temple. During this students disseminate awareness regarding cultural and heritage assets of downtown Srinagar through folk musical performances at heritage museum Baitul Meeras and through cultural skit at tourist Interpretation Centre Malkhah.
